A historic milestone for the Kariba dam on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border. After 7 years of hard work, our teams have crossed the finishing line of a titanic project to make this crucial structure safe. Over the last few months, the work has involved protecting the geological fault and a cavity threatening the stability of the dam with an impressive reinforced concrete sarcophagus of almost 6,000 m³, equivalent to an 18-storey building, anchored in the cliff. This rehabilitation project, crucial to the safety of the 3 million people living downstream from the dam, supplies up to 70% of the energy needed by the two neighbouring countries.
