Ensuring the hydraulic connection between the two tunnels

l'ouvrage Confluence cadereaux Nîmes 2

Strengthening the hydraulic safety of the city of Nîmes

Carried out in a constrained urban environment, the Nîmes cadereaux project aims to improve stormwater drainage through two tunnels: the Uzès cadereau, completed after 980 m of excavation, and the Limites cadereau, stretching 1,280 m. With a diameter of 3.3 m, these structures will eventually enable water to be evacuated ten times faster, strengthening protection for the city and its residents during Mediterranean storm events.

The project now moves on to the civil engineering phase of the “Confluence” structure, which will play a key role: this is where the two tunnels will meet, ensuring hydraulic continuity between the upstream and downstream cadereaux. This major milestone marks significant progress in securing the territory and showcases the technical expertise of the FAYAT consortium in complex urban environments.
